Physical Servers

Moving to a hosted server removes the need to cater for the capital outlay of introducing new services. Server hardware failures, redundant network connectivity, BIOS and firmware upgrades are all removed from your care. Alongside that, moving to a hosted model means you no longer need to cater for power, rack space or any other Data Centre costs. Your services are immediately housed in secure and enterprise class Data Centres and there are no delays in procuring and installing hardware. Infoplex Data Centres tick all the boxes for power, security and environment management.

Infoplex provide dedicated physical servers for customers needing high performance and IO capabilities or where a Virtual Server is not appropriate. Customers can choose from a hosted only model where you undertake Operating System installation and patching through to a managed service where we take care of the day-to-day server Operating System support and you just look after the application you are running on the server. SAN connectivity, backups, Internet connectivity, load balancing and other optional services are available for both hosted and managed servers. The server can be on an extended part of your own network, part of a private cloud or a standalone Internet facing server residing in one of three secure tiers.

We offer three classes of servers with a high or standard performance level:

Class Performance option Description Price from / Month
Gold High Quad Socket/Quad Core, 128GB RAM $3,904
Gold Standard Dual Socket/Quad Core, 64GB RAM $1,891
Silver High Quad Socket/Quad Core, 64GB RAM $3,769
Silver Standard Dual Socket/Quad Core, 32GB RAM $1,280
Bronze High Quad Socket/Quad Core, 32GB RAM $3,272

All servers contain 2 x 72GB SAS drives and a RAID controller, which can be configured as RAID 1, as well as 2 x 1Gbps Network interfaces configured as a teamed interface.

Inclusive in the hosted service our 24x7 NOC will monitor the host for any physical or power issues. In our managed service we also monitor the OS and a standard set of metrics (availability, memory and CPU utilisation and attached storage status) . We offer an SLA of over 99% uptime for all our managed and hosted physical servers, customers requiring a greater availability target than this should discuss their requirements with us so we can engineer a highly available solution in-line with their Business Continuity requirements. Available Q3 2009 customers will be able to access our customer portal and view these statistics for the current month and download previous month’s reports.

We use the latest enterprise technologies and are frequently refreshing our fleet to the latest Dell models. Customers have access to the server both via RDP (for a Windows server) and via Dell’s Remote Access Card (DRAC). The DRAC provides access to the host if your application causes the server to become unresponsive. Customers can choose the Operating System that is installed on the host. Licensing can be either supplied by Infoplex (Microsoft SPLA or Red Hat) or supplied by the customer.
