Virtual Servers
Virtualisation technologies are used extensively in many organisations to provide their business services. The benefits of virtualisation include; reduced power consumption, speed of deployment and simplified high availability and business continuity solutions. With the advances in virtualisation technology and server hardware, most applications can now be successfully deployed on Virtual Machines thus providing great cost savings and flexibility.
Infoplex host Virtual Servers built on the market leading VMware technology connecting to EMC tier-1 storage arrays and Cisco switching technology. VMware are the global leader in virtualisation technology and still have the highest performing and most reliable virtualisation products available. Our EMC arrays include their highest level Symmetrix series which offers unparalleled performance, availability and security.
Organisations using a hosting provider for virtual servers are able to leverage the infrastructure and expertise of the provider. Hosting customers incur no capital outlay or in-house skill shortages and deployment time is a fraction compared to in-house solutions. Customers also benefit from the hosting providers scale – the larger the VMware farm, the more cost effective it is to include physical redundancy. Infoplex maintain a highly redundant VMware farm which can survive multiple hardware failures thus ensuring minimal service disruption. Our standard SLA is for 99.99% availability. Our virtual servers can be deployed using a range of high-availability configurations to offer even greater uptime to meet your business continuity requirements.
Infoplex offer server classes ranging from a low spec Bronze machine through to our high performance Diamond class Virtual Server. Customers can choose from a hosted only model where they undertake OS installation and patching through to a managed service where we take care of the day-to-day server support. SAN storage, backups and other optional services are available for both hosted and managed servers. The server can be on an extended part of your own network, part of a private cloud or a standalone Internet facing server residing in one of three secure tiers. Minimum contract period is for one month and a discount applies for contract lengths of twelve months or greater.

Alternatively, Infoplex can deploy any other operating system if the customers can supply a VMDK or VMM file.
Licensing: Customers can supply their own Microsoft license purchase the required license through Infoplex.
Contract: Minimum contract period for our Virtual Servers is one month. For committed terms of more than 12 months, discounts apply.
Network: All servers contain a 1Gbps Network interfaces. Data throughput is only charged for data that leaves Infoplex hosted networks (ie via the Internet).
Snapshots: Infoplex can take a snapshot of the hosted VM upon request. The customer can request for the VM to be restored to the snapshot.
Additional storage and RAM: All virtual servers can have additional storage or memory added to the base specification as follows:
