Situation

Entity Solutions made a decision to relocate their head office in Melbourne, Australia; providing an ideal opportunity to improve operational efficiencies and enhance customer service offerings. To accompany the office relocation project, the company also completed a review of the existing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure housing solution. This review, coupled with the age and condition of their current IT environment made it clear that an overhaul was required in order to support the company’s core essence which is superior service. “Our head office move and ageing hardware required us to either replace the environment or look for an alternative solution. We need to be able to market our services as a best practice solution for our customers who rely on our systems’ availability,” said Matthew Franceschini, CEO of Entity Solutions.

Chris Weber, Sales & Marketing Director, Infoplex, said relocations or ageing infrastructure are key triggers for a move to the cloud. “Organisations are moving their infrastructure into the cloud when it makes sense for their business; the most common scenario is when it’s time for a refresh. Looking at the costs of building dedicated environments, versus running in a shared environment, there are often strong cost benefits moving to the cloud.”

Entity Solutions was looking to acquire an infrastructure hosting solution that delivered maximum up time, a premium environment, redundancy in both the power and data carriage and a disaster recovery capability. They were also keen to upgrade to a premium level of technology.

“Infoplex can provide a superior level of technology, skills and understanding. We deliver world class ’enterprise cloud’ solutions that were previously out of reach for mid-market organisations,” said Chris.

Matthew said that Entity Solutions considered three options. “The first option we considered was to develop a purpose built high quality server room in our new head office and purchase or lease our own hardware. We also considered the option of co-location. Lastly we compared the data centre facilities of the three leading providers in the market including Infoplex.”

Solution

Entity Solutions selected Infoplex as their service provider.

Matthew said that he is confident that the Infoplex solution will tick all of their boxes. “We pride ourselves on providing our customers with a high quality service delivery and a world class solution and we are confident that we will continue to achieve that with Infoplex systems supporting our business.”

There are a number of benefits Entity Solutions will achieve with their chosen solution. It will give them the flexibility for future growth, reduce their upfront capital expenditure, provide them with a best practice environment for core business applications and deliver maximum comfort with regards to the availability of core business systems. “Infoplex worked with us to tailor the most appropriate solution for our business needs today and in the future. They did not try to impose a vanilla solution,” said Matthew.

Chris said that Infoplex is first and foremost a flexible solution provider who leverages partners to offer a broader capability. “One of the key ways we’re able to be more flexible is the fact that we own all of our assets – from servers to data centres and the network through our sister companies.”

Another reason Entity Solutions chose Infoplex was because the data centre presented itself as rock solid and secure.

Infoplex maintains and retains all data in highly secured facilities in Australia. The company has five data centre locations in Australia, with two more coming on board in March 2012. “We understand that data sovereignty and security are key issues for organisations,.One thing Infoplex is known for, is the security within our environments, with four tiers of security, it’s our number one priority,” said Chris.

Entity Solutions chose Infoplex as they felt that the partnership posed maximum potential and benefits. Entity Solutions also felt that the two organisations were a good fit from “people” perspective. “The relationship we developed was key, and fundamental to that were the Infoplex brand value and the way they work with us. There is real integrity in the process. They have been completely honest in all their communication with us, treating us as an individual. We have a value for money solution and their transparency means we know exactly what we are paying for – there has been no hidden cost or agenda.

We can concentrate on our core business, confident that our infrastructure housing is supported by a trusted, professional and best practice organisation. To date, we are very happy with the commitment Infoplex has shown in delivering the solution that we selected,” said Matthew.

Entity Solutions environment went live on 19th December 2011.
